Questions
Questions about body oil
What is the difference between body oil and body lotion?
A body oil is a single-phase product - no water, no emulsifier. It sits on the skin and slows water loss, which is why it works well after a hot shower while the skin is still damp. A lotion is water-in-oil and absorbs faster but contains less of the active oil per gram. Can I use body oil on my face?
Most of our body oils are formulated for the body, not the face. The Damascus rose oil is gentle enough for non-reactive face skin, but we recommend the dedicated face range for daily facial use. Will the oil stain my clothes?
Apply to damp skin and give it 5 minutes to absorb before dressing. The lighter notes (jasmine, wild mint, lemongrass) absorb in under a minute; the richer rose and musk oils need a little longer. How do I layer body oil with perfume?
Apply the oil first to clean, damp skin. Once absorbed, spray or dab perfume on pulse points. Body oil is also a base layer for our perfume oils - the oil holds the scent on the skin for longer. Is Damascus rose body oil safe during pregnancy?
We flag this on the product page: Damascus rose essential oil is not generally recommended during pregnancy at high concentrations. Our body oil uses rose at a low cosmetic concentration, but if you are pregnant, talk to your midwife before introducing any new essential-oil product. How much should I use per application?
Five to seven drops for arms and legs, two or three for the torso. Less than you think. The oils are concentrated; over-applying turns into the staining problem above.
