Questions

Questions about body splash

  • Body splash versus eau de parfum - what is the difference?
Concentration and carrier. A body splash is roughly 1-3% aromatic compounds in a water/argan-oil base, designed to layer subtly over the day. An eau de parfum is 15-20% aromatic compounds in alcohol, projecting much more in the first hour. Body splashes are quieter; perfumes are louder. Different occasions, different intensities.
  • Will it stain my clothes?
No, in normal use. The argan-oil carrier dries on skin in under thirty seconds and the aromatic concentration is too low to mark fabric. Where staining occasionally happens is when the spray hits silk or pale-coloured fabric directly without letting the oil dry on skin first - so spray on skin, not on the fabric.
  • Can I spray it on my hair?
Yes, that is one of the traditional Levantine uses. The argan-oil carrier conditions the hair shaft as the scent settles, particularly useful on summer days when hair gets dry and statickless. Spray a foot away from the head, light pass, comb through.
  • How long does the scent last?
Four to six hours on skin, longer on clothes and hair. The lighter notes (papaya, vanilla) fade slightly faster than the deeper notes (Damascus rose, Imperial Jasmine). For longer wear, layer over one of our body oils - the oil holds the scent on skin for an extra two to three hours.
  • Are these safe for pregnancy?
Cosmetic-concentration body splashes at the levels we use are considered low-risk in pregnancy. The exception worth noting is concentrated Damascus rose essential oil, which is sometimes flagged at high concentrations; our Damascus rose body splash uses rose at standard cosmetic levels (well below clinical caution). If you have any specific concerns, ask your midwife or stick to the vanilla and papaya splashes which carry the lowest essential-oil load.
