Category: Lip Care
Three lip products from the Khan Al Saboun atelier: a Damascus rose balm and a Night Secret balm - both wax-and-honey based, with a slow-release scent that fades through the day - and the lip plumper, a mild stimulant formulation that draws blood to the surface for a temporary volume effect. All three are paraben-free; the balms double as a thin cuticle treatment in winter.

Questions
Questions about lip care
What is the difference between the Damascus rose and Night Secret balms?
Scent and base notes. Damascus rose balm carries a soft floral with a faint rose-water finish, suitable for daytime wear. Night Secret balm is heavier - amber, musk and a touch of vanilla - and tends to sit on the lips longer. The texture is the same wax-and-honey base; the choice is aesthetic. Will the lip plumper irritate me?
The plumper works by mild surface stimulation - a tingling, slightly warm sensation in the first minute, which fades as the effect appears. Most users find this comfortable. If the sensation crosses into stinging or burning, or if you notice swelling beyond the cosmetic effect, rinse immediately and discontinue. Patch-test on a small area first if you have sensitive lips.Does the lip plumper actually work?
Yes, temporarily. The effect lasts roughly two to three hours - blood is drawn to the surface and the lips look fuller and slightly redder. It is not a long-term volumiser and does not change the underlying anatomy. Think of it as the cosmetic equivalent of biting your lip before a photo. Can children use the balms?
Yes. The Damascus rose and Night Secret balms are gentle enough for children's lips - they are honey-and-wax based with no synthetic flavour or colour. The lip plumper is an adult product and we do not recommend it for under-eighteens.Will the balms leave a tint?
A very faint warmth, no real colour. Both balms are essentially clear to slightly amber in the tube and apply transparent on the lips. They are about hydration and scent, not about pigment - look at our body splashes if you want a tinted finish.
